As many of us have heard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has predicted an above-normal forecast. This includes an expected range of 17 to 25 named storms, with 8 to 13 potentially becoming hurricanes, and 4 to 7 of those possibly being major hurricanes. Forecasters have a 70% confidence in these ranges. The Small Business Administration (SBA) knows that weather catastrophes can significantly impact businesses, from short-term power outages to the need for rebuilding after a hurricane. And the SBA offers various programs to assist with recovery after a natural disaster. This includes disaster loans to cover losses not fully covered by insurance or other sources.
