Happy World Turtle Day on May 23rd! Founded in 2000 and celebrated in over 190 countries, World Turtle Day is an annual observance that brings attention to, and increases knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourages human action to help them survive and thrive. Did you know that there are seven species of marine turtles: hawksbill, loggerhead, leatherback, olive ridley, green, flatback, and Kemp's ridley, and that six of them are at risk of extinction? Please take a look and download all these free educational resources! 🐶 A Day for Tutu! Happy National Pet Day on April 11th! It's Tutu's favorite day! In my series, Tutu is Reese and Dean's pet dog. Guess who the honorary chair is for this week of celebrations? Mychal Threets! I can't think of a better person to host this week of celebrating libraries than him! To celebrate this fun week: Visit your local library! Get a library card or encourage a friend to get one. Visit a little free library. Find one here. Read some great books about libraries such as this one, this one, another, or one more. I've read them all and enjoyed each one. 🌍Happy Earth Day! Happy Earth Day on April 22nd! Earth Day is an annual event started in 1970 to help raise awareness and support for environmental protection. Did you know that over 190 countries celebrate Earth Day today? I love that! It can seem overwhelming at times. But, each person can do something. Mychal Threets, Yellowstone National Park, and Activity Book

Happy March, reader! 😊 Mychal Threets I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet Mychal Threets when he visited my area on his book tour a few weeks ago! I loved listening to him read his wonderful new book, I'm So Happy You're Here: A Celebration of Library Joy, talk about libraries, and answer some questions! Mychal is an award-winning librarian, author, mental health advocate, and new host of the children’s program “Reading Rainbow”. He is such an inspirational and amazing person! Enjoy a photo below from this great event. 🎂 Happy Birthday to Yellowstone National Park On March 1st, Yellowstone National Park celebrated its 154th birthday as America's first national park. This national park has an endless supply of wildlife, views, terrains, and magic! I absolutely love this national park and highly recommend a visit sometime in your life. Enjoy a few fun facts about Yellowstone National Park: While 96% of the national park sits in the state of Wyoming, it is also in Idaho and Montana. Yellowstone is home to 67 species of mammals. The lowest temperature recorded in Yellowstone is –66°F (–54°C). Yellowstone contains 290 waterfalls! Over 10,000 hydrothermal features have been documented within the park.
