BRYANS ROAD, Md. — A fire broke out on Sunday evening at a single-family home located at 6507 Pomfret Road in Bryans Road, Charles County, Maryland. The incident occurred around 7:32 p.m., causing significant damage to the property owned by Ennio Rodriquez.
The fire, which originated in a bedroom on the main level of the house, quickly spread through the structure. The Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene with 50 firefighters, managing to control the blaze within 10 minutes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
The preliminary cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet determined whether smoke alarms were present or functioning at the time of the incident. Additionally, there were no fire alarms or sprinklers installed in the home.
The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to the structure and an additional $50,000 in damage to the contents of the house. A passer-by discovered the fire and alerted the authorities, enabling a swift response from the fire department.
