ALLENTOWN, Pa. – In an impressive showcase of skill and strategy, the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team secured a commanding 20-0 victory over Cedar Crest College, maintaining their undefeated streak in the United East Conference. Sophomore attacker Katelin Scala, hailing from Catonsville, Md., was a standout player, achieving career highs with four goals and a total of seven points.
The match, which took place in Allentown, Pennsylvania, saw St. Mary's College (6-5, 2-0 UEC) establish an unassailable lead early on, ending the first quarter with an 11-0 advantage. Scala, along with junior attacker Hailey Betch from Severna Park, Md., were pivotal to the team's success, combining for a total of 12 points in the first half alone through eight goals and four assists.
The defensive strategy employed by St. Mary's College was equally formidable, limiting Cedar Crest College (4-2, 0-1 UEC) to a mere three shots compared to their 40.
