In a festive unveiling in St. Louis, the U.S. Postal Service introduced two new stamps - Celebration Blooms and Wedding Blooms - designed to add a touch of elegance and joy to various forms of correspondence. Aimed at enhancing the postal experience for occasions ranging from weddings to general well-wishes, these stamps merge artistry with the USPS's tradition of facilitating meaningful connections.
The Celebration Blooms stamp, now available as a Forever stamp, promises to remain evergreen, maintaining its value equivalent to the current First-Class Mail® 1-ounce rate, regardless of future price changes. This stamp is ideal for a multitude of mailing needs, including RSVPs for weddings, party invitations, thank-you notes, significant announcements, and day-to-day correspondence, offering a versatile option for personal and formal exchanges alike.
In tandem, the Wedding Blooms stamp has been specifically tailored to accommodate the heft of elaborate invitations for weddings, anniversaries, and other significant celebrations. Additionally, it is suitable for oversized greeting cards and the mailing of small gifts that necessitate extra postage. Issued in panes of 20, the "Two-ounce" notation assures users of its capacity to cover heavier mailing requirements, akin to a Forever stamp, it ensures perpetual validity for the postage rate denoted on it.
Both stamps boast captivating designs featuring an array of brightly colored flowers illustrated in ink and gouache. This artistic choice brings a vivid splash of red, yellow, purple, pink, green, and blue to each piece, enhancing the visual appeal of mailed items. The designs are the brainchild of Derry Noyes, a USPS art director, who utilized existing illustrations by artist Kim Parker to bring these stamps to life. Notably, each stamp carries the word "USA" and their respective value indicators in striking hues, marrying functionality with aesthetic charm.
This release underscores the Postal Service's commitment to enriching the nation's postal tradition with stamps that celebrate life's significant moments. As these stamps make their way into the hands of the public, they stand as a testament to the enduring role of physical mail in connecting people across distances, marking milestones, and brightening days with a personal touch.
