In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Junior Aiden Doyle of St. Mary's College has been named the United East Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. This accolade, announced on Monday, March 25, marks Doyle's third career weekly conference award, underscoring his significant contributions to the team's success.
Doyle's achievements come on the heels of an undefeated week for the Seahawks, who notched a commanding 22-9 non-conference victory against Marymount University in Virginia on March 20, followed by a riveting 19-15 comeback win against Messiah University on March 23. Over these two games, Doyle, hailing from Arnold, Maryland, showcased his talents with a total of five goals, five assists, and two ground balls, playing a pivotal role in both victories.
At 6-foot-5, Doyle's presence on the field is as commanding as his statistics. He kicked off the week by contributing a goal and a season-high four assists, along with two ground balls in the victory over Marymount. This performance was matched by his efforts against Messiah, where he scored four goals and added an assist, tying his season-high of five points.
Currently, Doyle is a formidable competitor within the league, tied for sixth with 14 goals and ranking 10th with six assists. His overall performance places him eighth in the league with 20 points.
Looking ahead, St. Mary's College, currently holding a 6-2 record, is set to open conference play against Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, March 27. Rosemont College, with a 1-5 record and yet to play a United East Conference game, will be looking to challenge the Seahawks' momentum at the 4 pm matchup.
