LEONARDTOWN, MD – A violent robbery incident that occurred on January 27, 2024, at the St. Mary's Square shopping center, Lexington Park, led to the arrest of two individuals, as reported by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. The incident, involving physical assault and theft, took place near the Weiss grocery store and resulted in the victim being hospitalized.
The assault and robbery were reported to have occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. in the rear area of the shopping center. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed for privacy reasons, described being forcefully knocked to the ground, physically assaulted, and robbed of his wallet. The severity of the attack necessitated medical attention, and the victim was subsequently transported to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital for treatment. The nature and extent of the injuries sustained were not immediately disclosed.
Following the report, deputies from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office promptly responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. The details provided by the victim and evidence gathered at the location aided law enforcement in swiftly identifying two suspects related to the crime.
The suspects, identified as Shannyn Elizabeth Dulemba, 40, and Jamaze Jovan Wood, 25, both reported as having no fixed address, were apprehended by the authorities. They have been charged with multiple offenses, including Robbery, Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, and Theft. Additionally, they face charges related to Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS): Possession Not Cannabis. Following their arrest, Dulemba and Wood were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
