LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior swimmer Luke Schwenk from St. Mary's College of Maryland has been named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for an impressive fourth consecutive time, as declared by the conference office on Monday, January 29. This recognition marks a notable achievement in the current season, where Schwenk has clinched the title seven times out of the ten times it has been awarded.
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, and a graduate of Broadneck High School, Schwenk has been instrumental in leading the Seahawks to significant victories in their regular-season finale, which took place on January 27 at Hampden-Sydney College. Demonstrating exceptional skill and leadership, the 6-2 team captain propelled his team to a decisive 117-70 win over William Peace University and a 121-82 victory against Hampden-Sydney.
Schwenk's performance was nothing short of stellar, as he secured two individual wins, showcasing his prowess in freestyle swimming. He first triumphed in the 50 SC meter freestyle, clocking in at 23.55 seconds, and then went on to win the 100 SC meter freestyle with a time of 52.66 seconds.
