HEALDSBURG — Trailing 6-3 going to the sixth inning, the Kelseyville Knights batted around, scoring eight times in the process, in a come-from-behind 12-7 non-league softball win over the Healdsburg Greyhounds on Thursday afternoon in Healdsburg.

Kelseyville (2-0) has beaten Healdsburg in each of its first two games this season. After the eight-run sixth inning, Lilly Wiser (2-for-4) added an insurance run in the seventh with an inside-the-park home run to right field.
"It was a shot," Kelseyville head coach Julie Jackson said of Wiser's blast to the unfenced right field in Healdsburg.
The Knights pounded out 15 hits while beating the Greyhounds, stringing several of those together during their big sixth inning.
"They dug deep and found it," Jackson said. "They really started hitting the ball well."
Seven different Knights had two hits apiece -- Wiser, Debbie Pasalo, Cali Schnabl, Kat Wheelan, Faith McIntire, Morgan Rogers and Ana Ray. McIntire also drove in three runs and stole two bases. Schnabl had three steals.
Mya Ogo, working in relief of starter Jayden Paulich, was the winning pitcher.
"They're learning, growing and it's fun to watch," Jackson said of her players. "It's a very coachable group."
Kelseyville is off until the Cloverdale Tournament on March 17.
In other softball action Thursday:
Middletown 38, Piner 0 (3 innings)
At Santa Rosa, despite limited practices because of recent rainfall/snowfall in Lake County , the Middletown Mustangs made their season opener against Piner one to remember as they routed the Prospectors in a game called after only three innings.
The Mustangs (1-0) scored 14 runs in the top of the first inning, eight more in the second and another 16 in the third. That was 37 runs more than sophomore pitcher Brooklyn Wood needed as she no-hit the Santa Rosa team, struck out six and walked none. She did hit one batter.
"She did really well for being as young as she is," Middletown head coach Bob Gunion said.
Piner's pitchers struggled with their control all day as they walked 16 Middletown batters. When they did manage to find the strike zone, the Mustangs were ready, according to Gunion.
"They threw a lot of changeups, which really helped us," Gunion said. "When they did throw strikes our girls were aggressive."
Senior shortstop Jaidyn Brown led the Middletown hitting parade by going 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Harley Holley, Melanie Gerst and Cadence Henry each had two hits and three RBIs while Breanna Pyzer drove in two runs.
"They are a young team just like we are," Gunion said. "We're young, but this team is working hard and that makes it really nice to coach this group."
Middletown is scheduled to host Healdsburg on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
