I was looking thru the Waterfall Lovers Guide the other evening and found a reference to and location of Rainbow Falls near the mapdot Cascadia and the Cascadia Recreation area. The access road, Swamp Mountain Road, was easy enough to find but the waterfall was not. The trail location is not marked and while the guide said to park and follow a dirt road it turned out that there are a number of dirt roads that turn off the main one. However sometimes luck rides with one and this morning the fog from the marine inflow was hanging in the second growth timber and vine maple. Fog can add so much to an image, IMHO.
The first one below was intentionally shot with a Black and White conversion in mind.
The next one was taken as I walked back up a hill after a search for the 'not to be found' waterfall and to me it just says west Cascades. Second growth timber and vine maple in the fog. Loving the cool but dry weather and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Click on the image for a larger screen view and I welcome your comments.
