Yes, it has been a while since "fingers have been to keyboard." In some ways, it has been a necessary thing, while in other aspects perhaps "lost in the forest" hasn't been the most productive.

Nevertheless. not here punching away to figure out the "good or bad" of the situation, but more to prove and at the least give a decent go at putting some thoughts down within the electronic realm of blogging.

Being 5:20am on Sunday morning(and also Halloween btw), there isn't much moving or awake at the "old homestead" here. Just me and out Keurig coffee machine.

This picture is one we took several years ago while hiking along the Bruce Trail in the south end of Grey County. In fact, Hoggs Falls is less than 30 minutes hiking from this point.

So, why the point of the picture and the post?

I guess the point I'm stumbling towards is simply this. We often(metaphorically) keep walking back and forth thinking "should we open the gate/door and take a step in" or what should we do. The sad or tragic reality to the whole exercise is that the day ends; the sun sets once again and we just managed to add another layer of "doubt" or "indecision" to our already complex lives.

Sometimes, we simply need to open the gate and if nothing else poke our head through and have a "wee look" at what is on the other side.

The screenshot of our local weather forecast suggests that winter isn't far away. That phrase "a few flurries" is one all Canadians are familiar with, but in reality, despise hearing or seeing in print. Unless you're in the ski or snow sports industries.

Having not gotten to any real conclusion or point to this post yet, I think the point is this. Well, hopefully, it is.

It is supposed to clear this morning and be somewhat sunny this afternoon. I think it would be a good thing for us to forget about what needs to be done around the "old homestead", go out to one of a few places I think would be interesting, and simply "open the gate and go take a hike."

And that is the point........"time to open the gate and go take a hike."

At least, I hope that is the point. My mental and emotional wellness is hoping it is.
