Hello July!

Greetings from Kathy Cherry Books!

Happy July, reader!

🧩 Summer Fun
Are you staying cool? The best way to cool off? Grab a good book! 📖😉 Puzzles are another fun indoor activity. Check out the photo below of an awesome national park puzzle that I received as a gift. My family and I are working hard on it together.

🥾 Trail Updates
A few weeks ago, the Department of the Interior announced on National Trails Day the designation of five new National Recreation Trails in six states. These five new trails added 387 miles to the National Trails System of more than 1,300 existing National Recreation Trails. The trails can be found in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. One of these five new trails is located in my town. We hike, bike, and stroll along the Miner's Ravine Trail all the time. So exciting to have this trail protected with this new designation. I added a photo from our trail below. :) Click here for more information on the National Trails System. Do you have a favorite trail where you live? I’d love to hear about it. Just hit reply and let me know!

Hello June!

Greetings from Kathy Cherry Books!

Happy June!

I'm super excited to share that Polar Post: An Erutuf National Park Novel was awarded the Literary Titan Gold Book Award! This honor celebrates books with exceptional storytelling, unforgettable characters, and beautifully crafted prose. Thank you to Literary Titan for this recognition!

“Polar Post is a heartwarming, funny, and clever story with a whole lot of imagination. It’s clearly aimed at middle-grade readers, but honestly, I had a blast reading it as an adult. If you’re a teacher, a parent, or just someone who loves talking animals, secret missions, and a little eco-magic in your stories, this one’s for you. Highly recommend.” – Literary Titan

Since last September, I have been volunteering for this amazing organization called Write the World as an expert reviewer and shortlisting judge for their monthly writing competitions. The organization's mission is "To equip teenagers with the confidence and competence to change the world, one word at a time. By developing teenagers’ writing and critical thinking skills, we empower young writers to become global citizens and succeed in school, career, and life." The organization offers free monthly writing competitions, but also has writing camps, college essay reviews, and more. If you know anyone ages 13-19 or educators for this age, please share this great resource! Click here to find out more information.

Yesterday was my birthday! 🎉 To celebrate, Polar Post's ebook is free today on Amazon. Click here to get the free ebook. As a birthday wish, I'd love a review for this book or any of my books. Reviews really help bump books up on the search engine. And you don't have to purchase them on Amazon to leave a review there.

Three new Erutuf National Park book bundles are now live on my website and all packed with wild adventures, unforgettable animals, and a park sticker! 📚 Whether you’re gifting a young explorer or stocking up for summer reading, check out these new bundles. The packs are at a discounted rate compared to purchasing the items separately. Click here to start your next adventure in Erutuf National Park with a fun book pack!

Enjoy a photo below from a recent craft fair. I really enjoy going to these craft fairs and having the opportunity to meet new people! Looking at the calendar to do more fairs!

As a reminder, you can find my books on my website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Bookshop, or request your local bookstore and/or library for them. Local friends, you can also find the three books at Wit and Whimsy Toys, a unique locally owned toy store.

I really appreciate your support! Thank you! I hope that you have a fun June and start to the summer!

Take care,
Kathy Cherry

Hello May!

Greetings from Kathy Cherry Books!

Happy May!

✨ Yay! One of my favorite weeks just happened - National Park Week! This year, they presented a new park playlist each day as their theme. The daily playlists included greatest hits, alternative, pop, nature songs, classic rock, heavy metal, rhythm and blues, dance music, and ended with walkup songs.

Throughout National Park Week, I thought a lot about our national parks and all the memories of our visits there. And sang a few songs too! 😉 National parks bring us great joy in addition to so many other benefits. National Park Week provided us with a daily reminder of all the goodness within this great and unique system. Cheers to another great National Park Week! Yay! ✨

Speaking of our national parks system, I had the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the USS Arizona Memorial. It's hard to articulate the emotions standing there on the USS Arizona Memorial. It was though a great opportunity to learn more about the history of this attack on the world and the local impact as well as. In school, you learn just small bits of information, so I really enjoyed learning more in depth information. I even became a Junior Ranger! (I highly recommend doing the Junior Ranger program at any NPS site! Regardless of your age!)

On the fictional side of national parks, I'm so happy to share that Polar Post: An Erutuf National Park Novel just won The Golden Wizard Book Prize! You're the first to hear the fun news! Check out the seal below on the image.

Last, enjoy my photo of below from a recent author challenge. Love my socks by Conscious Step that supports and donates a portion to National Parks Conservation Association!

As a reminder, you can find my books on my website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Bookshop, or request your local bookstore and/or library for them. Local friends, you can also find the three books at Wit and Whimsy Toys, a unique locally owned toy store.

I really appreciate your support! Thank you! I hope that you have a wonderful May!

Take care,
Kathy Cherry

Hello April!

Greetings from Kathy Cherry Books!

Happy April! And happy birthdays to my two kids this month! April is always a busy, but super fun month in our house!

Woo hoo! Erutuf Ranger Activity Book launched! Check out a photo below showing some of the rankings from the first couple of days! It's an easy and fun activity to give children for road trips, dinners out, sibling sporting events, rainy days, and many other times. You can find this new activity book on my website or Amazon.

Who wants a free download? Who doesn't?! Click here to download a free activity sheet where you create your own park ranger based on your favorite color, birth month, and favorite number! I’m a park ranger in the valley with a bighorn sheep and have a book. What about you?

I had the wonderful opportunity of being a part of the Middle Grades March Meet the Authors online parties. I really enjoyed all the questions, artwork shared, and meeting new friends! And loved seeing my author friends online too! I highly recommend that you check out my fellow authors from these events and their great books: Kristen Gwen, Stacey Faubion, Valerie Woebkenberg, and Katy Sloop Roberts. A huge thank you to Katy for hosting and coordinating these online parties!

National Park Week runs from April 19-27th this year! Be on the lookout for fun posts throughout the week.

As a reminder, you can find my books on my website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Bookshop, or request your local bookstore and/or library for them. Local friends, you can also find the three books at Wit and Whimsy Toys, a unique locally owned toy store.
