Lake County Health Services Provides Update on COVID-19
Northern California is experiencing a summer surge in COVID-19 cases with a relatively milder variant this season, Lake County Health Services remains dedicated to keeping our community informed and well-equipped with the latest resources and strategies in order to stay healthy.
Current COVID-19 trends and data insights
With a shift in how COVID-19 data is monitored by government agencies, the State of California has narrowed data reporting to focus on Covid positive lab reporting, Covid hospitalizations, and Covid deaths. Additionally, wastewater monitoring provides additional data that allows surges to be monitored.
Updated Prevention and Treatment Options
The availability of COVID-19 prevention and treatment resources has evolved:
–Insurance Coverage for Health Resources: Discuss available options for vaccines, medications, and tests with your primary –care provider, as these are generally covered by insurance plans now.Lake County Health Services has a limited supply of free COVID-19 test kits.
–For eligibility information regarding free COVID-19 vaccinations, please contact us via phone: (707) 263-1090
Keep an eye out for an upcoming new vaccine information via press releases and social media.
Biannual COVID-19 communications initiative
Starting this November, Lake County Health Services will be launching an outreach program to boost community awareness and preparedness for COVID-19 peaks typically seen in July and November. This initiative will also monitor influenza and RSV trends, which are expected to overlap with COVID-19 during the colder months.
