What's your favorite time of day?
Without a doubt, early morning after I first roll out of bed is my favourite time of the day.
In the past, I've posted that the early morning is what I consider and think of as "my time." My time to enjoy coffee; read the news if I want, as well as to open WordPress(again if I choose) and spill whatever may be in my brain out in the blogging world and beyond.
Even if any of the above wasn't to occur(coffee would for sure - it always happens), it is a time for quietness; to watch the sunrise and start to burn the dew and mist from the landscape. The perfect time to head on out for a hike along the ocean or through a forest as it starts to become awake.
Early morning can often around here mean, getting ready to head out someplace. It might be heading to the airport for a flight back to Ontario, or maybe piling into the car for a long day trip to hunt for sea glass.
Early mornings also set us up to get things done that need to get done early so that the rest of the day is ours or mine to own and do what I choose to do. I have a hard time convincing Lynn of this one.
Nevertheless, early mornings are my favourite time of day. Not that other times of the day are distasteful by any means. Sitting on the deck from late morning and throughout the afternoon reading a book or streaming the ballgame on the laptop also holds great appeal. And there is nothing wrong with sitting around at night on the back deck with the fire-table blazing away; a drink or two in hand watching yet another ballgame or perhaps a favourite movie or television show.
But early mornings are the time.
