St. Mary's County Commissioners have announced they will host a Public Forum on July 23, 2024, starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Commissioners' usual venue, the meeting room on the first floor of the Chesapeake Building, located at 41770 Baldridge Street in Leonardtown.
The forum provides a platform for residents to engage directly with their local government officials. It serves as an opportunity for community members to express their opinions, ask questions, or make suggestions on various local issues. Each speaker will be allotted up to three minutes to address the Commissioners during the session.
In addition to the in-person meeting, St. Mary's County residents who prefer to submit more detailed feedback can do so through several channels. Communication can be directed to the Commissioners via email at csmc@stmaryscountymd.com or by traditional mail at Commissioners of St. Mary's County, P.O. Box 653, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
Public participation in local governance is highly encouraged, and the Commissioners aim to foster an environment of mutual respect during these forums. These sessions are designed to facilitate open dialogue between the Commissioners and the public, ensuring community voices are heard in a structured and respectful setting.
The forum will also be accessible to a wider audience as it will be broadcast live on the St. Mary's County Government TV Channel 95. Additionally, it will be streamed live on the internet, accessible at www.YouTube.com/@StMarysCoGov. This ensures that even those unable to attend in person can participate and stay informed about the discussions taking place.
