DAHLGREN, Va. — Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) announced plans to conduct significant range testing on July 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which is expected to result in loud noises affecting surrounding communities of the Naval Support Facility Dahlgren.
During this period, the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone will be off-limits as outlined in Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 334.230. This closure is to ensure public safety during the testing operations.
Residents in the vicinity of the testing range are advised to be prepared for potentially disruptive noise levels. Precautions are suggested for those with sensitive hearing or animals that may be affected by the noise.
The range schedule is subject to change frequently, underscoring the importance of staying informed through official channels. Community members can access daily updates on range operations and test schedules by calling the NSWCDD Range and Weapons Testing toll-free hotline at (877) 845-5656. Additional information is available on the Potomac River Test Range website at NSWCDD Range Schedule.
