It was 90° with 45% humidity yesterday afternoon and this was the view out the north side of the garage. Big, fluffy, Texas Summer clouds. There was no breeze to speak of and I would not have wanted to be working out in the garage. Fortunately I had plenty to occupy me indoors.
I caught up on laundry and used my sock drying rack aka storage shelves to hang three pairs of socks to dry.
And I re-skeined and measured this yarn. It is still a bit over 1,100 yds so I am very happy with the end result.
The rent house is coming along. Laminate is being installed in the bathrooms, kitchen and utility room. Carpet will be installed soon. There is still a lot of clean up to do and old carpet to haul away as well as yard work and tree trimming to get done.
Our 'lawn' is finally under control. It's not cultivated grass but when it's cut it looks nice and neat and the guys aren't struggling with cutting wet or slightly damp grass. They do such a nice job cleaning up and trimming around all the trees. Brad and I can't keep up with that like we once could and we are blessed to have found good people to take care of it for us. They will soon have the property where Bill will be living to mow as well. He has no intention of trying to do the upkeep on an acre lot and David is busy enough as it is. We still need to do some trimming and clearing out around the trees on the lot to make it easier to mow.
I have downloaded Agatha Christie's "The Complete Miss Marple Collection" to my Kobo reader. There are 13 stories to keep me occupied when I want to read beginning with "The Murder at the Vicarage". Why, oh why...do so many companies feel it necessary to cram lgbtqxyz crap down our throats? Sigh. I open the website at Rakuten Kobo to look for books to read. I don't care about some else's sexual preferences and I certainly will NOT celebrate sexual perversion! Arrrghh! Rant over.
We had several containers of frozen soup that needed to be vacuum sealed and returned to the freezer and now I have four quart size plastic Rubbermaid containers to wash and put back in the cupboard. Brad brought me two containers of Panera's Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice soup and I froze one container as soon as it cooled off and put the other one in the fridge. It has since been consumed! All three containers of black eye pea soup are vacuum sealed and in the big freezer next to three containers of black bean soup and there is much more room in the freezer now. The chicken soup is in the kitchen freezer.
Something is going on with area internet connections. It's not just us. Some websites like Melaleuca and Young Living take a couple of minutes to load, others load as usual in mere seconds. Try to get something done at say...Home Depot...like paying for several thousands of dollars of carpet and all of a sudden the 'system' won't work and it takes three employees and a phone call to corporate to make any headway. Glitches checking out of the grocery store. Glitches trying to order stuff online. Social media sites making me sign in multiple times before they recognize my account. I think I need to spend a few days offline and working on my knitting and spinning, reading in the evening before bedtime, and more time devoted to daily prayer and my rosary meditations.
Hope your Saturday is a good one. Stay safe. Stay cool. God bless, ya'll.
