The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum (PRNAM) is set to host this year's International Aviation Art Exhibition and Forum, an event presented by The American Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA). This exhibition will showcase over 50 pieces of original aviation art created by some of the most esteemed aviation artists in the United States.
Each artwork displayed has been carefully selected by a panel of expert judges based on artistic merit and historical significance. "There is no other exhibition like this in the United States," a spokesperson from PRNAM stated, highlighting the unique nature of the event.
On Wednesday, June 19, visitors will have a unique opportunity to witness artists at work. Many of the participating artists will be present at the museum, painting and sketching throughout the day. This offers art enthusiasts, students, and aviation history buffs a chance to interact with these artists, watch them create in real-time, and gain insights into their creative processes. These artists will use the museum's extensive collection of flight test aircraft and artifacts as their subjects, bringing history to life through their art.
The week-long event will culminate in a banquet on the evening of Saturday, June 22, where category and special awards will be presented to the artists whose works have been judged as exceptional. The exhibition itself will remain on display at the PRNAM until mid-October, providing ample opportunity for visitors to explore the rich tapestry of aviation history depicted in these artworks.
ASAA members will be engaged in a variety of professional activities throughout the week, including academic instruction and presentations that spotlight flight test activities at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River. This immersive experience is designed to foster professional development and collaboration among aviation artists.

This unique exhibition not only celebrates the artistry and history of aviation but also provides a platform for artists and enthusiasts to connect, learn, and inspire each other. With its blend of historical significance and artistic expression, the International Aviation Art Exhibition and Forum at PRNAM promises to be an event not to be missed.
