In a high-scoring baseball game in Aston, Pennsylvania, the St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks concluded their regular season with a defeat against the Neumann Knights, with a final score of 17-7. The match, which took place on the Knights' home field, saw the Seahawks struggling to keep pace despite a spirited effort.

The game commenced with the Knights taking an early lead by scoring the first run in the bottom of the first inning. The Seahawks quickly responded, leveling the score at 1-1 in the top of the second thanks to an RBI from Corey Brown.

Momentum shifted significantly as Neumann amassed seven runs over the second and third innings, capitalizing on strong batting performances. Highlights included Layne Lesko's RBI single, Dominant Turner's RBI sacrifice fly, and Derrick Booker's RBI double, propelling the Knights to an 8-4 lead.

Despite the growing deficit, the Seahawks continued to battle back. Brown contributed another RBI, this time with a double in the fifth inning, cutting the lead down to two. The gap was further narrowed in the sixth inning when Cole Tarleton's double brought Chase O'Dell home, making it 8-7.

However, the Knights delivered a decisive blow in the bottom of the sixth, scoring nine runs to extend their lead significantly. They maintained this lead for the remainder of the game, securing a 17-7 victory.

Key players for St. Mary's included Chase O'Dell, who led his team with three hits, and Corey Brown, who tallied two RBIs. The Seahawks utilized a range of pitchers including Jack Overton, Austin Ferreira, Nick Russo, Graham Houck, Michael Roeder, and Colin Patterson in an attempt to quell the Knights' offense.

The Seahawks are set to face Penn State Harrisburg next on May 3rd in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as they look to rebound from this challenging loss and kick off their postseason play.
