Calvert County Public Schools' (CCPS) Board of Education (BOE) has announced the appointment of a new Director and Supervisor of Transportation. Kevin Hook has been named Director of Transportation, and Travis Mister has been appointed Supervisor of Transportation. These appointments were approved at the April 11 and May 9 board meetings, respectively.

Kevin Hook brings extensive experience to his new role as Director of Transportation. Hook has dedicated the past 16 years to serving as the Supervisor of Transportation and Athletics within CCPS. His tenure with the school system includes roles such as Coordinator of Transportation, Routing Specialist, and Secondary Social Studies Teacher and Coach. Hook's educational background is equally impressive; he completed his master's in Administration and Supervision in 2020 and earned his Law Degree in 2000. He began his teaching career in 1994 after receiving his certification from Salisbury State University, following his graduation from St. Mary's College.

Travis Mister, the newly appointed Supervisor of Transportation, has a robust background in educational administration. Since 2019, he has served as the Assistant Principal at the Career and Technology Academy, where he also oversaw the Calvert County Alternative School. His prior roles include Assistant Principal positions at Southern Middle and Plum Point Middle Schools, as well as a physical education and health teacher at Calvert High and Patuxent-Appeal Elementary Schools. Mister holds a master's degree in Administration and Supervision from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Salisbury University.
These appointments reflect CCPS's commitment to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of its transportation services. The experience and expertise that both Hook and Mister bring to their new roles are expected to contribute significantly to the smooth operation of the district's transportation department.
