Nonprofits, just like for profit organizations, are all in competition with each other for a finite pool of resources.
Yet, working in a collaborative way with like-minded charities can enable those participating to reach a wider audience through their respective networks.
Recently Ukiah Elk's Lodge #1728 stepped up and gifted the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1900 a check for $550 to sponsor their quarterly breakfast in support of local veterans.
Elk's Lodge #1728 Trustee Chairman Daniel Harreschou presented the check to VFW Commander Mary Ann Gonzalez, commending the VFW for its continued service to the community and veterans.
Commander Gonzalez expressed deep appreciation for the gift. Proceeds from the fundraiser breakfasts go towards veterans' assistance, maintaining flags at Ukiah cemetery, and many projects the VFW supports, including student scholarships. VFW: is on Facebook. Questions, call (707) 234-7392.
