LATHAM, N.Y. – Junior Cole Tarleton, an outfielder from Hollywood, Md., and a standout player for St. Mary's College, was named to the 2024 All-United East Conference Baseball Volt Division First Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.

This accolade marks the third consecutive year that Tarleton has received All-United East honors, though it is his first time being selected for the First Team. He had previously been named to the Second Team in both 2022 and 2023. Tarleton joins a prestigious group, becoming only the fourth Seahawk in history to earn all-conference recognition three times. The last player to achieve this was Michael Bolmer, who received All-Capital Athletic Conference honors from 1998 to 2000.

During his junior season, Tarleton led the Seahawks with a .379 batting average, amassing 44 hits and 70 total bases. His offensive prowess was evident as he ranked second on the team in on-base plus slugging percentage (1.062), at-bats (116), runs (27), doubles (11), triples (three), home runs (three), RBI (24), slugging percentage (.603), and on-base percentage (.459). Additionally, he drew 11 walks and stole four bases, ranking third in both categories for the Seahawks.

Defensively, Tarleton excelled with a .988 fielding percentage, recording 82 putouts and committing only one error in 83 chances. His performance was notable among United East players, where he tied for third in triples, and ranked seventh in slugging percentage, eighth in fielding percentage, and tenth in doubles.

A highlight of Tarleton's season was his performance in a 14-2 victory over Lancaster Bible College during the United East Volt Division Tournament, where he achieved career-bests with four hits and four runs scored. He also recorded a season-high six putouts in that game. Throughout the season, Tarleton demonstrated consistency with career-tying achievements, such as hitting two doubles in two separate games and driving in three runs on three different occasions. He concluded the season with 12 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games, both second-best on the team.

St. Mary's College concluded the 2024 season with a 12-20 overall record and a 7-8 mark in conference play, marking their third consecutive double-digit win campaign. As the fourth seed, the Seahawks advanced to the divisional final after a tournament-opening loss to No. 1 seed Penn State Harrisburg. They subsequently eliminated No. 2 seed Penn State Abington with a 17-10 win and defeated No. 3 seed Lancaster Bible 14-2 before ultimately falling to Harrisburg 10-2 in the final.
