Mack Lee Cleckley, age 40,
Authorities are ramping up efforts to locate 40-year-old Mack Lee Cleckley, who is currently on the run after severing his electronic monitoring device. Cleckley, who reportedly has no permanent address, is wanted on a revocation of bond warrant due to a violation of his release conditions.
The situation escalated when a Charles County judge ordered Cleckley's release on electronic monitoring on May 2, 2024. Just one day after being released, on May 3, detectives discovered that Cleckley had removed the monitoring device. This led to the issuance of a bench warrant by a judge on May 7, for his arrest.
Cleckley was initially charged by a Charles County Grand Jury in August 2023, following an investigation by the Narcotics Enforcement Section of the Charles County Sheriff's Office. He faces several charges including possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of drugs, and possession of drug distribution equipment.
In a dramatic turn of events, Cleckley was apprehended in April 2024 by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force in Prince George's County and was subsequently held at the Charles County Detention Center before his brief release.
Described as being 5'6" tall and weighing about 140 pounds, Cleckley has tattoos on both arms and is known to have connections in Baltimore and Prince George's County. Given his history of firearms charges and assaults on officers during prior arrests, authorities urge the public not to approach him if spotted.
For those who have information regarding Cleckley's whereabouts, they are encouraged to immediately contact 9-1-1. Additionally, Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to his arrest. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-866-411-TIPS, online at www.charlescountycrimesolvers.com, or through the P3Intel mobile app.
The community's assistance is critical in this matter as law enforcement seeks to safely apprehend Cleckley and ensure the safety of the public.
