A fire broke out on Wednesday night at Mega Imports Auto Sales in Waldorf, Maryland, resulting in significant damage to 12 vehicles and one trailer. The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. at the auto sales lot located at 2580 Old Washington Road in Charles County.
The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responder to the scene. A total of 49 firefighters worked to control the blaze, successfully managing to bring it under control within 20 minutes. Despite the quick response, one firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for medical treatment.
The fire was discovered by a neighbor who alerted authorities. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and officials have yet to determine where the fire originated.
The total estimated loss from the incident is approximately $70,000. Fortunately, there was no fire damage to the business structure itself, with the destruction confined to the vehicles and the trailer on the property.
