Loaded up for a trip to St George, Utah, the GOREWEAR Spinshift LS Jersey was along for the ride. But, it wasn't just any flavor of this cool-weather jersey, it was a special collab version with artist Jeremy Collins's artwork on display. It's definitely flashy and eye-catching, and the Spinshift LS Jersey's foundation is an excellent performer.

Inspired by a recent bike tour through the Italian Dolomites, the artwork of Jeremy Collins is hard to miss. Admittedly, it's a little snazzier than I would typically wear, but it is a beautiful design on a fantastic jersey, so let's dig into both the design and performance of this limited-edition Spinshift Jersey.
Where it really counts is performance, so we'll go there first. The polyester/elastane feels light, stretchy and is instantly comfortable. Gore's lightweight material is excellent underneath the Velocio Ultralight Jacket on cold desert mornings in the 40's or under a vest on warmer mornings in the 50's. As temperatures rise, it's equally awesome up into the 70's and beyond, should you wish to have extended coverage from the sun.
Of course, there is some wind protection, but it's minimal as the Spinshift breathes really well. Honestly, the breathability is outstanding as it doesn't get overly-saturated and dries in a jiffy. After a ride, it quickly dries out and has excellent antimicrobial properties too. I can comfortably wear it several times before washing. It's actually pretty amazing in that regard and makes for a great travel jersey. During my trip to Southern Utah, I wore it multiple times and just let it air out, hanging from my handlebars overnight. The next day, it had no adverse smells at all.
Pockets are incredibly important and Gore hasn't done anything out of the ordinary on the Spinshift LS. I found the pocket placement, size and capacity to be just right. Even though the pockets don't have bellows at the bottom, the fabric's ability to stretch allows them to swallow a ton of stuff. I comfortably carried the following items with room to spare:
iPhone 13 Mini
Velocio Ultralight Jacket
Assos Mille GT Vest
Specialized Mini Pump
Dynaplug Tubeless Repair Kit
Tubolito road tube
SiS gel and a granola bar
I was impressed by just how much I could stuff in there and still ride comfortably. It carries these items well and maintains a snug profile without allowing heavier items to bounce around. Pocket placement is just right -- making even the middle pocket within easy reach. And, the single zippered sleeve adds a bit of security for a wallet, credit cards or phone.
GOREWEAR chose to outfit the Spinshift LS Jersey with a full silicon hem, which is always a wise choice. With it, the Spinshift LS stays securely in place and never creeps up during a ride. Sleeve length is spot-on as well, with perfect coverage. Additionally, the stretchiness does a great job of swallowing my Polar Pacer Pro without any issues.
Going with a low-profile collar is also a great choice. Tall collars are best left to winter-weight jerseys and the collar on the Spinshift LS feels perfect. In addition, there is a zipper garage at the top which keeps the zipper from chafing my neck. That garage does make grabbing the zipper a little more difficult, but the zipper does pull pretty easily. The zipper backing also prevents the zipper from pulling chest hair when worn without a base layer. I almost always wear a lightweight, sleeveless base layer and that proved to be a great combination.
As far as the design goes, this limited-edition jersey is definitely eye-catching and offers a bit of exclusivity if that's something you enjoy. The Fireball/Multicolor version I tested is much bolder than the Black/Lab Gray color way, if you like the design, but want something more muted. If solid colors are more your jam, the Spinshift LS is offered in six solid colors.
Fit: I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs, wearing the size medium.
