At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended March 1, 2024, receipts at 17 markets totaled an estimated 12,746 head compared to 14,262 last week and 9,110 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold steady to 3.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder bulls sold steady to 4.00 higher, feeder heifers sold mostly steady. Trade active with good to very good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady to firm. Year-to-date receipts totaled 85,876 compared to 96,567 last year.
