In all honesty, I was a tad reluctant to post this particular painting.
It certainly fits the mold of "loose and abstract", but in many aspects that's about where it ends for me.
When I was working away on it, I really liked how the vase component ended up with the very dark blue, but off-setting that was the highlights of the blue/white and yellow/green to give the impression of a reflection.
I also thought the bottom quarter of the picture, below the "horizon line" showed both the shadow caused by the vase on the right and the lighter reflective portion on the left.
But, other than that, I'm not overly excited about it at all.
Now, having said all of that, and like any painting exercise, it was a learning process. What to do the next time, and as important - what not to do.
Maybe, sometime shortly I'll give it a go again.
