For this week's blog I am doing a throwback project. This is one of my first times doing an image transfer onto book cloth. I took a digital image that I drew on procreate and I decided I wanted it to be the front and back cover of my book!
I wanted my book to be bright and colorful, so after finding the illustration I thought would best suit my concept, I decided I needed fun and bright paper to match! I took sheets of handmade paper I had made that were bright, colorful, and fun, and folded them into 3 signature stacks in order to sew.
In order to transfer my image onto book cloth I had printed out my image on paper and then placed the paper with a special gel on top of my book cloth. Doing this was able to cure my image onto my main book cloth fabric. When the gel dried I slowly scrubbed off the paper in circular motions and was left with my image printed onto my book fabric!
I lastly sewed everything together and chose a tan wax string as my binding. This was a fun bright project that I really enjoyed. This project displays my handmade paper to print in!
