This whole working extensively for a whole eleven days since the beginning of the New Year has been both good and bad all at the same time.
Good in that there is a bit of extra coin coming into the "old homestead" which is nice. Not entirely necessary, but welcome nonetheless. The bad is it cuts into and often disrupts the "old retirement scenario."
Although I'm not sure what "old retirement scenarios" are supposed to look like. Most people I've talked to after they made the "retirement" decision, end up being far busier than when they happened to be doing the whole "9 to 5" trip.
But, nevertheless, the work thing has cut into the art thing to a significant extent thing.
Mostly if I'm honest, it is time scheduling and actually making time for the art thing more than anything else.
However, I have managed to get this far on what I hope will be an abstract forest scene in the fall(colour change) with birch trees in the foreground(in full colour).
The tree leaf colours and the whiteish/textured birch trees should really pop out against the out-of-focus/"bokeh" background.
The next step is to paint the birch tree trunks as the first layer of the foreground. The trees and leaves will be done using a palette or artist's knife. That will really give some depth and feeling to the overall texture of the environment. At least I'm hoping.
In the foreground at the bottom right, I hoping will be some greenery that is applied using a brush.
With any luck, and given that I'm not working today, we'll get much further along with the process.
