The Willits Center for the Arts invites our community to celebrate all the creativity of the season with two Halloween events presented on Oct. 28 and 31. For the rest of the month watch our board members and volunteers decorate the historic Women's Improvement Center building as a haunted house inside and out.
Saturday, Oct. 28 The Haunted Ballroom returns. Local favorites Cosmic Family Band and Death and Taxes Swing Band with members from Dirty Cello headline the evening's musical performances. There will be a costume contest and silent auction. There will be depraved drinks curated by Sloan and Scott from Santa Cruz and San Francisco and a Frightful Feast. Consult with fortune tellers and get a portrait by Willits Photo Club photographers to capture your special look and many more spooktacular surprises.
The Gala is one of the WCA's biggest annual fundraisers. The event is being generously sponsored by the Willits Chamber of Commerce and Northspur Brewing Company. Gala tickets are $50 or two for $90 and are available online at willitscenterforthearts.org or at the door for $50.
On Oct. 31 the Center will host kids and families at 4 p.m. for a free costume party with music, crafts, treats and games.
For this "Halloween Happening: A Celebration of Creativity" the entire Willits Center for the Arts will be transformed inside and out with decorations, props and projections provided with generous donations from our board members (and extreme Halloween enthusiasts) Emmy Good and Eric Hart.
