LAKEPORT— Earlier this year a search warrant was served on a Kelseyville storage unit locker rented by a Healdsburg man and woman from Willits. This search warrant led to the seizure of methamphetamine and fentanyl and the arrest of James William Biocca, 54, and Melody Yadon, 51.
Both defendants were present and not in custody for a master calendar call hearing at the Lake County Superior Court in Lakeport.
During the recent hearing the trial readiness conference was set for next month with the jury trial reset for Nov. 15, 2023.
Both defendants have are facing charges of possession for sale of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, controlled substance – possession for sale, transporting a controlled substance and two counts of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.
The charges stem from an incident in February when Lakeport Police served a search warrant that resulted in the arrest of both defendants and the seizure of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Biocca was previously arrested earlier this year as he was in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl that had been packaged for sale.
During the search of the storage locker Yadon and Biocca arrived at the facility as Biocca was identified in the same vehicle he was previously driving when arrested earlier this year.
The officers had located suspicious methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the locker along with fentanyl and methamphetamine in the suspect's vehicle.
Both Yadon and Biocca were arrested and transported the Lake County Correctional Facility and both are out on bond.
Biocca is facing additional charges from a previous case that is trailing this most recent event.
Those charges include driving with a suspended/revoked license (DUI), possession of a controlled substance for sale, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance.
