Several weeks ago our granddaughter told me her daughter wanted to come and visit us. So we set up the 3rd Sunday in August at 3 PM in the afternoon, and we would have a tea party.
So low and behold Sunday was the 3rd Sunday, tea party time. Our daughter said just call it a tea celebration. Reminded those coming it was a tea party, not a full course meal. We had little finger food ( thank goodness for Lunchables) small cupcakes with strawberry and white icing. It was so much fun for our great granddaughter. She loved pouring tea (lemonade) from her little teapot to her very tiny cup. Her brother who is only 1 1/2 years old just smiled and tried a bit of whatever was put in front of him. Our granddaughter and her husband bought some sweet breads with Jalapenos and something else in them. The adults really enjoyed them except me as Jalapenos do not agree with me.
It is amazing what kind of ideas come up when you give your mind a chance to roam, think, and plan. The party finished up with reading stories to help settle everyone down after playing so hard, especially our 3, going on 4 years great granddaughter. I understand Daddy had to carry both her and her brother into their house they were sleeping so hard. I have not asked yet if they both slept all night or if they woke up in the evening with renewed energy!
