Vacaville's Altogether Different Church Welcomes a New Senior Pastor
Continuing their intentional approach to diversity and inclusion, First Baptist Church of Vacaville (FBCVV) welcomed Pastor James Soy to the pulpit in June 2023. Pastor Soy brings the right blend of experienced leadership, youthful energy, and insightful vision that will help propel the church well into the future.
Originally from the Philippines, Pastor Soy grew up in Northern California, making him familiar with the diverse culture of Vacaville and Solano County. He is energized to settle into his new role and serve the community.
Pastor Soy is joined in ministry by his wife Pia. Married 16 years, they have established a powerful partnership, excitedly working together in life as well as ministry. Together, they have three boys.
He is a passionate servant leader with the experience to guide people to joining God's kingdom movement, resulting in healthy, growing, and strategic action in the church. Summing up his approach to ministry, Pastor Soy said, "God changes the world through ordinary people who are filled with the Holy Spirit, alive in the gospel, and convinced of the victory of Jesus."
With their vision of being the All Different, All Together, Altogether Different church, the members of FBCVV are excited to see where Pastor Soy takes God's church at the corner of Alamo and Davis in Vacaville.
Deacon Laurence Maier, a member for more than 20 years, put it this way, "Our church has always recognized its role in serving the community. In the short time he's been here, you can feel the energy shift and grow as God uses Pastor Soy to spread God's love beyond the walls of the church."
Looking for a loving church home in Vacaville? Pastor Soy and FBCVV look forward to meeting you. You can learn more about Pastor Soy and the ministry opportunities at FBCVV by going to http://www.fbcvv.com/.
