Easter weekend has come and gone. All things considered, it was a good four days or so in terms of weather down here at the "old homestead."
There was a cool enough breeze blowing off the ocean that made the temperatures slightly cooler than one might want, however, the constant sunshine was much needed. Our backyard is relatively protected from a lot of the wind, so for most of yesterday afternoon, the back deck was a warm, cheerful, and pleasant spot to lounge away for a few hours parked in a patio chair.
While Lynn poked away outside working on refinishing an older side table, I hiked down to the ocean for a +/- 6km distance. Although breezy, the sun was shining and it made a wonderful 90 minutes or so down by the water.
It was a nice time.
But no one wants to read about yet another un eventual walk along the ocean at low tide from the "old homestead."
At least I don't think you do.
Moving on though, these past few weeks have been and continue in many respects to be a somewhat contemplative journey for yours truly.
Contemplative - how?
Contemplative in terms of expectations versus the reality of our move to the east coast.
The expectation or idea of what life would be like here, as compared to the reality that it is. That it currently is.
And I have no absolutely no answers to what my expectations were prior to our move. I may have possessed some vague vision floating around in my mind of what or how life might have been here before we moved, but it's an ultra-muddy thought now.
Nor do I have any concept of what my expectations currently are.
And all of that combined with what the present reality actually is.
So, in a nutshell, that's what life is like at the moment.
Sort of a lost or semi-helpless feeling. Like I'm dangling in the breeze.
