A Pennsylvania woman was arrested in Ukiah on Tuesday for allegedly driving a stolen car that cameras had alerted officers to, the Ukiah Police Department reported.

According to the UPD, around 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31, one of the cameras in the city's FLOCK license plate reading system alerted officers that a stolen vehicle was being driven in the area of East Gobbi Street and Highway 101.

Officers responded and located the vehicle, described as a "dark-colored Subaru Outback which was reported stolen from Reno, NV, on Jan. 14," after it was parked in the lot of the Metro PCS/T-Mobile store located in the 700 block of South State Street.

Seeing that the vehicle was unoccupied but that someone was inside the business, officers reportedly "surrounded the store and waited for the suspect to return to the vehicle." When the person left the store about 10 minutes later and got in the driver's seat of the stolen vehicle, officers "drove into the parking lot, blocking the stolen vehicle."

The suspect, identified as Brandy Mong, 46, of Pennsylvania, reportedly "complied with officers' commands and was detained without incident" before being arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and being booked into Mendocino County Jail.
