Along with having a rich and colorful history, Clarion County is home to a beautiful rolling countryside covered by lush forests, and the Clarion River weaving through this breathtaking landscape. The county is also home to miles of trails for hiking and bicycling and three craft breweries. What could be better than a cold beer after a fun day on the trail?

Let's start with a look at the trails in the county.

Redbank Valley Trail was honored as Pennsylvania's first ever Trail of the Year. It offers visitors 51 non-motorized miles from Brookville through New Bethlehem to Armstrong Trail near East Brady along scenic Redbank Creek with bridges, tunnels, artworks, and history.

Rail 66 Country Trail is a four-season, non-motorized trail that extends 20 paved miles through scenic northern Clarion County, stretching from Route 322 in Paint Township to Vowinckel.

Armstrong Trails is 35.5 miles and located on the former Allegheny Valley Railroad line along the east bank Allegheny River in Clarion and Armstrong Counties with railheads near East Brady. The Redbank Coaling Tower is interesting stop along the trail.

Clarion Loop Trail is a new three-mile loop spur added to North Country Trail that winds through hemlocks and hardwoods, passing over creeks and rocks until you reach the river. The trail connects the town of Clarion to the Clarion River.
There is also a popular bicycling trail along the Allegheny River in the resort town of Foxburg and many trails to explore in Cook Forest State Park.

So, you have worked up a powerful thirst after your adventures on the trail. Now a cold refreshing craft beer would hit the spot. Clarion River Brewing Company brings you a taste of history with handcrafted microbrews and reimagined American cuisine. Located in downtown Clarion, they are a place that will take you back to a simpler time, where delicious food, handcrafted beer, and history reside.

Lost in the Wilds Brewing is located along the Rail 66 Country Trail in near Shippenville and is a great place to enjoy house made craft beer along with PA wines and spirits in their picturesque taproom and spacious outdoor seating area with different food trucks every weekend.

Mechanistic Brewing Co. is a family run nanobrewery, downtown Clarion, with a focus on chemistry to recreate traditional beers as well as experiment with more modern beer styles. Visitors can enjoy a drink and food inside or at their outdoor seating area.
