In anticipation of the incoming rainy weather, the City of Vallejo announced Wednesday that it will open an overnight warming shelter for those seeking respite from the cold and rain through Friday.
The shelter -- located at located in the Vallejo room at 505 Santa Clara Street on the backside of City Hall, just below the JFK Library -- will open in the evenings from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning.
Those seeking transportation to and from the warming shelter will be provided with a free bus ride from SolTrans by simply mentioning to the driver that they are "traveling to or from the Vallejo warming shelter."
Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring their own blankets, although there will be a limited number of blankets and pillows available, according to the news release by the City of Vallejo. In addition, participants will be limited to bringing in one small bag of personal items as space is limited.
