To quote Captain Picard, "It's the day after Boxing Day - What are we supposed to do now?"
Actually, I have no freaking idea.
I always found that the days between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve are kind of like "there are these lost few days where no one knows really what to do."
Many of you today, will have to head back to work until New Years' Eve/New Years' Day. On the other hand, many of you will have the time up to the new year off. So, good for you.
So, what to do on the "day after?"
Well, perhaps if you live in the land of snow and ice, and skiing or snowboarding is your thing .....why are you reading this and not "carving out a turn" on the slopes.
Where we lived back in Ontario, the Blue Mountain Ski and Snowboard Resort would be packed as tight as sardines in a tin can today. Not to mention the retail and restaurants located within Blue Mountain Village at the resort. It would be one busy and exciting spot to be in.
More often than not, there would be as many people simply walking around the "village" as there would be on the slopes. Unfortunately, my skiing days are behind me now, but when we lived in the area we used to love simply walking around "the village" - maybe carting a hot drink with us and simply taking in the sights and people-watching. If we were still living in Ontario, there is more than a good chance, Blue Mountain is where we may have well been today.
I supposed you could also go out today someplace and see what post-Christmas Boxing Day sale stuff bargains are worthy of dropping a few bucks on.
Nowadays, it seems that the Boxing Day sales aren't just .......Boxing Day.......but are now Boxing Week Sales. It might be slightly less busy today than yesterday the 26th....but don't bet your last dollar on that. You'll need that for a Boxing Week sale purchase.......like Christmas wrapping paper.
Literally, there are an infinite number of things that you can do the "day after Boxing Day." Okay, so maybe not an infinite amount, but there has to be something to occupy yourself with.
I got something here that just might be "the cat's meow" here(assuming that the cat's meow is a good thing) - why not take your spouse out for lunch.
Just say, "get your coat - we're going out". No details - just that.
I suspect that for many of you - surprising(I said surprising) your spouse by taking her/him out for lunch may require the use of an AED to restart their heart.
I hope not - but I can guarantee you..... they'll be surprised you did .......and glad that you did all in the .....................same last breath.
Queue the AED.
