MIDDLETOWN — Kelseyville High School's junior varsity football team remained undefeated in North Central League I play and posted its eighth straight victory overall Friday night with a 35-14 win over the Middletown Mustangs at Bill Foltmer Field.
Kelseyville (6-0, 8-1) trailed 14-13 in the third quarter before turning on the offense against Middletown. The Knights did so without one of their top players, wide receiver Tyler Bryant, who sustained an ankle injury and had to leave the game.
Michael DeJohn powered the Knights with 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Backfield mate Max Hommer added 92 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown.
Quarterback Brock Barrick passed for another 120 yards. Bryant had four catches for 80 yards before departing the game.
DeJohn and Hommer led the defense with nine tackles apiece. Jesse James add three tackles and an interception. Adam Astrup also had three tackles, including a sack. Daniel Anderson Reyes made three tackles that resulted in negative yards.
Kelseyville closes out its season Friday night in Lower Lake at 5:30 p.m.
