The Yolo County Historical Society hosted free tours of a historic building located at 702 Main St. in downtown Woodland as part of the city's First Friday festivities.
The building was constructed in 1875 and has served as the city's town hall, a printing office for the Daily Democrat and more, according to the historical society.

Chris Dreith, president of Home Improvements Group, recently purchased the building and has been using it as a showroom.
"This is a very historic building even though the inside here doesn't look like it because everything got ripped up and repoured," she explained regarding the constant remodeling the building has endured since it was constructed. "I love the fact that we can take an old building like this and put life in it. That's what we need to do with more of these buildings."
Dreith previously had her showroom displayed at Hotel Woodland and chose to move to her new location roughly a year ago.
"It's expensive and hard to design a showroom, let alone move some things and not some things and start all over again," she emphasized. "We're still struggling to make sure that it does what we want it to do, which is be an educational type of space for clients coming in that want to remodel something."
The Home Improvements Group has memberships with national trade organizations, associations, and local community groups, according to its website.
"Our participation keeps us abreast of the latest designs, innovations, products and area events," its website stated. "Eash association benefits you, our client, by providing better value, greater product selection, the newest styles and the area's most knowledgeable designers, remodelers and artisans."
