There Goes Another Month

So, here we are. It's the last day of September. How did that happen? Wow. I've been busy and it just sort of snuck up on me. It's 56° outside this morning and not a breath of air moving around out there. The sun is just clearing the tops of the trees and it looks to be another gorgeous day.

I'm so ready for October to be here. It usually means I get to spend more time outdoors and I need to do some work out in the garage now that it's cooler. We should be able to enjoy having the house open again. Yesterday was perfect. No humidity to speak of, just a nice breeze and plenty of sunshine.

Brad spent time out on the gun range and I puttered around the house and finished the last Brother Cadfael book in the series. I looked around on the Kobo sight and found a download with the first three books of The Dragonriders of Pern series. F'lar and his riders have been on Search and he has found Lessa and is taking her back to the Weyr with them to be the next Weyrwoman. Hopefully.

My desk will be here next week. It and the living room table didn't come from the same place, but no one thought to explain that. Oh, well. We're really enjoying the new table. It has an AC outlet and two USB ports on the top, six inches from the center back of the table. We have a mug warmer plugged into the outlet and I used one of the USB ports to recharge my Kobo e-reader yesterday. It worked like my fast charger on the desk in the living room. The cord attached to the table is a heavy three-prong thing. I like being able to plug in the Kobo without getting out of my chair and keep reading for a while. In no time at all it was fully charged.

It's a little after 8 am and I'm letting Brad sleep. He keeps saying that all this fresh air and sunshine is going to kill him. We both spent most of the summer shut up in the house with the A/C and he's enjoying being out in the cooler weather. He's cleaned out his shop/man cave and still has a bit to do in his bedroom yet. It's now possible to dust the top of his dresser and he has a lot of room on the shelves next to it. One shelf is dedicated to family photos and mementos and I suggested putting the smaller photos on the top shelf above the larger ones. It looks very nice.

I didn't do any knitting yesterday but I will see what I can accomplish today. I must have spent more time on my feet than I realized yesterday and my ankle will appreciate some time in the recliner today. I think it's time to start the coffee maker and think about what we're having for breakfast. I'm leaning toward hot cereal. It's that time of year and we really enjoy it.

Have a blessed Friday, ya'll.
