Today(Saturday), we're putting the paint brushes, paint rollers, paint, drill bits, picture hanging, and general home decorating aside for a day trip to the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia.
It's going to be a day of farmers' markets, antique and collectible shops, craft breweries, wineries, restaurants, and scenery.
It's the long weekend here in Nova Scotia as it is across the country. The last hurrah(so to speak) before school kicks off again for another year on Tuesday(however - not for me though). The weather folks are suggesting or forecasting a clear day filled with sunshine and temperatures in the mid-20 degree range, it should be perfect.
This is the first real type of day tripping or excursion we've taken since moving out east. We've gone to Halifax a couple of times to buy furniture(doesn't really count as day trippin'), and have only been about 50km on either side of the new "old homestead" along the Fundy shore. So, this should be fun.
It should also be(at least from where I sit) a welcome and perhaps a much-needed mental and emotional break and recharge the batteries outing. I think both of us to some extent were falling into a somewhat low spot or perhaps a slight burnout from the almost constant organizing, painting, and decorating exercises since our move in mid-July. It was becoming abundantly clear to me that we had somewhat lost our mojo when it came to getting out on outdoor adventures - given that we're surrounded with more opportunities for adventuring than "one could shake a stick at."
So, this will be good for us.
Stay tuned for pictures and stuff over the next few days or so.
