[New post] Even At Our Lowest Point Things Can Rapidly Change

Yesterday morning before friends from Ontario arrived, I managed to sneak in a longish walk on the ocean floor at the end of our road. The area we live in Nova Scotia contains some of the highest tides in the world that occur twice a day.
In the following pics, when it is at high tide, I could conceivably have 35 to 45 feet of water over my head. Although it can feel like a long period of time between a low tide and the next high tide, in reality, it is always just over 6 hours. Not long at all. Not even an 8-hour work day!
The thing that struck me while walking out there to some extent is this.
Even at our lowest point - those lowest of low points(and we've all been there) is that things can change pretty rapidly. Just like down at the end of our road - in slightly over 6 hours things go from being the lowest of lows to the highest of highs.
Every one of us has been; is going through, or will go through at some point, times in our life when it appears that there is not one single glimmer of hope of ever climbing out of whatever sickening and troublesome spot we're in. And often there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. You know what? At times it would be tough to successfully argue that point.
Notice though, that I did say the phrase "when it appears."
I didn't say no hope.......I said "when it appears" there is not even a faint glimmer of hope.
It's been my own experience over the years, that hope; change; a miracle, or whatever positive and enlightening word you might throw in there is often just around the corner - we simply can't see it yet.
But, things can change. And they can often change in a heartbeat. Or slightly over 6 hours.
The crappy reality(especially at the lowest point) is that in order to appreciate; grow; or be amazed by the high points, we often need to go through the low points. In order to appreciate the view from on top of a mountain, we need to walk and climb out of the valley to get there.
I can tell you with absolute certainty, that even after walking the 12 minutes to the end of our road, it's hard to marvel at and appreciate the sight of high tide, without seeing and viewing the area first at low tide.
Something to think about.
