A few days ago, Lynn and I found ourselves strolling the shores of Advocate Harbour Beach NS, which by the way seemingly stretches for km in either direction.
What I found interesting when we were there and now "weirdly interesting" in the pic is the "red rocks" along the shoreline in the photo about a third of the way from the top.
I can't explain or nor would I even care to hazard a guess as to why the cliff faces in the photo are grey in colour and then all of a sudden there is a section of the cliff in were the rocks/cliff are red.
Yes, I took a geology class in college, but that was so long ago that the earth was still cooling at that point.
The point of this is, I think is this(or perhaps it's something else - you can draw a number of conclusions from it)........
Everything in life and in our lives for that matter does not need to be in some ridged or semi-ridged style of conformity, or in the same order, or even the same colour to be spectacular. Or worse to be what society, family or friends define as "normal."
I might argue(and in fact, I will/would) that a modest touch of non-conformity, a little disorder and a splash of colour is what makes life an adventure - a life worth pursuing with "intent and vigour."
In my often skewed way of viewing life - the words "normal and/or conform" pretty much hold the same meaning.
No thank you.
I get that some will say and push back quite strongly that their "beige coloured walls of a lifestyle" are what they prefer. Plus, I'll hear(even though I care not to) a whole bunch of other reasons which are often simply hollow excuses as to why "beige is good."
Okay....
It is unfortunate though, given there is a whole colour wheel with an infinite number of colours and hews available to pick from and mix together into yet even more infinite choices.
So, be a "little nonconformist"; throw in a "splash or two or three of colour"; and "mix a touch or two of disorder" into your life.
Do something really, and I mean really spontaneous today - be a "red rock" in a sea of grey cliff faces. Do, the same thing tomorrow.
