This term, Year 3 are learning all about nature. We are focusing on rocks and soils in Science and earthquakes and volcanoes in Geography. Last week, in Science, we undertook an investigation to determine which group our sample of rocks fitted in to. The children completed a hardness test, a water test to see if the rocks were permeable or impermeable and an acid test to see if the rocks fizzed. Having made observations from these experiments the children decided if the rocks were igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic.
