Down to the last couple of days now.
Everything that remains needs to be packed and ready by Sunday night, as our mover comes on Monday at some point gather the rest of it.
All the major stuff that needed to be done in the last few days is done. It is down to just a few boxes left and then cleaning and recycling what might be left, which I suspect will be newspapers and empty boxes we didn't need.
So, in essence, we're kind of cruising to Tuesday when we close our sale here and then leave and lock the door one final time.
It's good to remember though, that closing and locking the door here, means that we are a week away from opening and unlocking the door to a new chapter there.
And that's a good metaphor and likely a healthy and positive way to look a life with. As one season ends, another one starts.
Lynn asked me last night while we were sitting around our last bonfire burning up the few remaining bits of wood we had left and sucking back on a cold beverage or two, "what would I miss?"
A good question that took me a few minutes to even come up with an answer. Other than the obvious answer such as "family and friends", I said, "I'm not going to miss anything." Anything that we could do/experience here, we can do in Nova Scotia. I suggested as well, we will be able to add new and exciting adventures into the mix.
Although "not going to miss anything" could be interpreted in a negative or dismissive light, I don't see it that way. This is a positive adventure/move for us that is happening.
I don't know, it's hard to explain.
Anyhow, we're cruising to the finish line; to the day. I do rather suspect the next couple of days will tick by excruciatingly slow.
But, they will tick by.
And at some point, on Tuesday we will shut the back door for one final time; lock it; hide the key someplace for the new folks; get in our car, and back out of the driveway one last time.
It's all good.
