What Is Angst?
Will this peculiar baby live?
I see our lives from the aspect of eternity,
long dead and looking down.
Confucius,
when he understood that he would soon die,
wept.
If I should lose all faith in God,
I think that I should continue to believe
invincibly in the world.
All nature
disregards our sins.
What can poor mortals say
about clouds?
It really doesn't matter
if it is I who die
or another.
What matters
is that we are all marked.
The voices of the dead
speak through reed pipes
of seclusion.
Why must we suffer losses?
There is
no less holiness
at this time.
At any instant,
the sacred
may
wipe you with its finger.
