Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. This week we share an easy recipe for French toast, it's super easy! All you need is a few pantry bits including eggs and your favourite milk etc. It's also perfect when you're trying to use up all your bread, stale bread is the best for French toast recipes! While this is a treat for brunch or breakfast, this is also a relative clean recipe with it being dairy-free and gluten-free! You're more than welcome to use the bread and milk of your choice
Let's get started
Ingredients:
4-6 pieces of sliced bread (we usually go 3 each per serving and are gluten free)
3 medium eggs
100ml milk of choice (increase if you prefer less eggy)
1tsp of vanilla essence
Generous dash of cinnamon
Generous dash of nutmeg
Method:
1. Mix all the ingredients together in a wide/deep dish (a Pyrex sort of baking dish is ideal)
2. Once all whisked, place a few slices of bread onto the mixture
3. Let the mixture soak into bread for a least few minutes. If using gluten free bread, probably no longer than 10 mins as the bread may start to fall apart because it being gluten free.
4. Flip the bread to soak up the mixture on the other side for a good few minutes
5. Add a bit of oil or butter into non-stick pan
6. Add the eggy bread onto the pan, once it's browning, flip to the other side
7. Serve when both sides are golden brown!
8. Follow the steps again if you have more bread to use
9. Serve your toasts with fruit, or something savoury like bacon, and of course maple syrup (honey will do as well)
We hope you enjoy this easy breakfast/brunch recipe Great for the weekend or if you have a bit of time in the day. Until next time, enjoy the rest of your week!
