December is probably our favorite month/season of the year. Although the weather is cold it is still possible to live the outdoor's magic that this season has. Many cities around the world take this month very seriously when talking about Christmas markets and decorations, and fortunately, that happens! That's what makes magical cities even more magical and special.

Come with us on this trip through the most magical cities during December! Don't forget about your scarf and gloves because in some of these cities there is snow!

Barcelona

christmas market in barcelona

The city of Barcelona has the best of both worlds: the historic and the modern. A city that screams culture and amazing places in every corner, especially during December. During this month there are several Christmas markets happening in the city, like La Fira de Santa Llucia where you can find traditional Christmas decorations. You have also the Fira de Nadal de la Sagrada Família that happens beside the basilica and where you can find not only handmade Christmas decorations but also traditional winter snacks.

Paris

Visiting Paris during December is the fastest way to get into the holiday spirit. There are sparkling lights and Christmas trees in every corner. You can find a lot of traditional carrousels that will intensify the magic in the air. Make sure you take your camera or your phone with enough battery because you will want to photograph everything! It is all so beautiful!

The Christmas markets are open until Christmas eve, but some of them are open until January. We recommend visiting the markets in Tuileries Garden (next to Louvre), the Paris Notre-Dame Christmas Market at Square Viviani, and the La Défense Marché de Noël.

New York

The music echoes "It's the most wonderful time of the year" and New York understood the assignment. If during the year it is known as the city that never sleeps, in Christmas season it gets "worse". The city is full of luxury and imponent decorations that can make anyone impressed. Expect to find big (like, really big) Christmas trees, as well as big ornaments like the Christmas balls in the middle photo. I hope you get lucky enough to find snow during your visit through the city- it will increase the magic.

London

London has a certain magic all year that is hard to explain. I don't know if it is the fact of being an illuminated city, or the classic buildings that I love so much, but everything in this city is enchanting. Now imagine how great is London during December: everything has a light, the ice rinks... A true paradise for true December lovers!

The best christmas markets we visited during this time were: Winter Wonderland, Leicester Square, Southbank Centre Winter Market, and Kingston Christmas Market. The real challenge is to try not to buy everything from the tents.
