Winter is that season where we spend more time at home. The weather is colder, and most of the days is raining or snowing, so the more we feel like staying at home. There are plenty of family winter activities that can make both kids and adults entertained for a whole day!

When choosing the winter activity for the family you have to consider that it should be one that serves both the age of the parents and kids. You also have to consider the favorite hobbies and tastes of everyone in the family. By doing that you are certifying that everyone is happy and amused by the activity.

On that note, here are some family winter activities that will guarantee fun in your house.

Karaoke & Dance Party

If your family likes to shake their body to music, and sing with all its lungs the Dancing Queen, then this is the perfect activity for you. On other hand, if your family is a little quieter, this can be an excellent activity for escape the daily routine.

There are multiple playlists on YouTube with karaoke music. The challenge will be, probably, to choose the one that both you and your kids know. At the same time, this could be an opportunity for showing new music to your kids and vice-versa. For this, you only need to connect your computer to a bigger screen and arrange something that serves as a microphone.

In the same space, you can arrange a dance floor. In that case, you can add a little fun by creating a dance contest. This one will make all of you laugh out loud.

Turn your living room into a fort!

Everyone has done this activity. You have done it, and your kids too. That means that this is a timeless activity where everyone has a lot of fun. These are the two main ingredients for a perfect family winter activity.

To make a fort indoors you only need pillows and blankets. Tie the blankets to the sofa corners, or to doors, and on the inside, put the pillows to make it cozier.

If you are lucky to live in a snowy country, then make a snow fort. This will take a lot more agility and imagination.

In both cases, you can transform the fort into everything you want. It can be like a cozy shelter for watching a movie or reading a book all together, or it can be used as the real meaning of fort. You can role play like you (parents) are trying to get it in, and your kids are the guards of it. Let's see who wins this battle!

Movie Marathon

Winter calls for many things, and one of them is a movie marathon. This is one of my favorite family winter activities, or wouldn't I be a huge fan of Harry Potter movies. When the weather starts dropping two degrees, it is time to grab a blanket, make a hot chocolate, and start watching (again) all the Harry Potter movies.

This could be a chance to show your kids our favorite childhood movies. You can opt for a saga, or everyone picks one movie to you watch together.

Depending on the weather conditions, you can opt for creating an outdoor cinema zone, or you can watch indoors. In both cases, make sure you create a cozy scenario, with some ambiance lighting, and don't forget about the popcorn.
